Film Auteur issue 2

“Film Auteur” is an independent magazine initiated by a number of independent filmmakers, focusing on film creators. During the Dragon Boat Festival in 2012, the “Xianghui” event planned by the Yunnan Film Festival was held at the Ximaojia Wuchang in Yueyang, Hunan. During the conference, some filmmakers felt the need to build a space for dialogue, and thus the magazine “Film Auteur” was born. Each issue of the magazine presents the author’s production experience and thoughts, produces a dialogue between authors, establishes an endogenous discourse and practical rationality in the field of film, and carefully builds it to promote creative communication and information sharing. All editorial staff work on a voluntary basis, and a small number of paper-printed magazines are published each issue, only for institutions and individuals who need them (for a fee) for collection and communication. In its ten years of publication, “Film Auteur” has been committed to establishing a free ideological space that is pure and vigorous, showcasing the context of Chinese in the world of independent film, connecting creation and keeping it alive.
